Motorways in France are toll roads and the return journey between Calais and the apartment
costs approximately GBP 80.00, depending on exchange rates.

From Calais take the A26 towards Arras, St Quentin & Reims.
At Chalons-en-Champagne, head towards Troyes and Langres then Dijon.
From Dijon head towards Macon and just before Lyon take the A46 towards Chambery.
This takes you round the East side of Lyon and on to the A43 motorway into the Alps.
From Chambery head to Albertville, then Moutiers, Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes.

From Calais, the journey is approximately 600 miles and takes roughly 9 - 10 hours.
Watch out for the radar speed traps - you have to pay cash for any on the spot fines
and the French Police do not take credit cards.
Remember the upper speed limit is 80mph (130kph, 110kph when raining) on French motorways.
It is a legal requirement to have snow chains when travelling in the Alps in winter and
a warning triangle, spare light bulbs, high-visability vests and two breathaliser kits (although this is still
debatable!)
